University of Newcastle Students

An exciting opportunity is now available for University of Newcastle (UoN) primary and secondary education students to complete a discipline depth subject or an elective course in physical education.

Students are now able to experience the national award winning DADEE project in action, complete the training required to become a DADEE facilitator, gain experience in delivery of a community-based physical activity program and work with a team of internationally regarding researchers led by Professor Philip Morgan.

The guiding principles and practices of the DADEE project have been embedded in the EDUC4017 course and enrolment is now available.

Participation in this course will enable you to gain experience in research whilst also providing the opportunity to play an integral part in this unique community-based program. On completion of the course, you will also gain skills to become a DADEE Facilitator.

Course requirements:

  • Introductory DADEE lecture (2 hr) + assessment training session (2 hr)
  • 2 day DADEE Facilitator training
  • Attend 3 x assessment sessions with dads and daughters
